The Speech Center of Houston is a Women and Veteran owned private Speech Therapy practice  operated by Tina Degge, a  Bi-Lingual (Spanish) native Texan, University of Houston Alumni President, and Navy Veteran. The Speech Center of Houston offers multiple services to Pediatrics with various Speech and Language disorders. 

 

Tina Degge owner and founder of SCH received her Masters degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Communications Sciences and Disorders from University of Houston in 2013. She is board certified from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice speech pathology in the state of Texas.

 

Tina grew up in Humble, Texas since 1988 and has both worked and supervised as a Bi-Lingual speech-language pathologist with Humble ISD from 2013-2017. She absolutely loves working with kids, and she had upwards of 60 elementary students on her caseload each year she worked at HISD. She also worked with Pediatrics  as the lead SLP at a private clinic for over 3 years as well as treating adults and conducting evaluations in a Home Health setting through The Therapy Center of Texas.  Her internship was completed at Memorial Hermann TIRR rehabilitation and at Texas Children's Hospital respectively. Tina also served as University of Houston Alumni President of Communications, Sciences, and Disorders from 2015-2017.

 

Mrs. Degge is a proud Navy Veteran who served honorably from 2000-2004 plus 4 years reserve as a Cryptological Technical Interpreter whose main language was Spanish. She was awarded a joint service award in 2003.

 

She has extensive experience in working with young children who present speech and language delays, oral-motor problems, articulation/phonological disorders, stuttering, and voice problems associated with vocal nodules, etc. She also has experience working with adults who have neurogenic problems, such as, stroke, head injury, cancer of the mouth, swallowing disorders and Parkinson's disease.
